City of Camden Providers
The New Jersey Professional Development Center for Early Care and
Education is pleased to announce that we’ve opened a satellite
office in Camden, New Jersey. The office is located on the Rutgers
University – Camden campus. Our satellite location will allow
us to support Camden early care and education programs with
- Scholarships for CDA training
- CCP Registration Fee Scholarships
- Tuition reimbursement for college courses
- Scholarships to attend the Directors’ Academy – child
care administration training for program directors
- Help in planning professional development activities for your
staff
- Support to become accredited through the National
Association for the Education of Young Children

Child Development Associate (CDA)
The Child Development Associate (CDA) Assessment Fee Scholarship
is for individuals working at Non-Abbott centers and covers the
cost of the final step in obtaining a CDA credential. Individuals
apply for this scholarship when they are ready to submit their
Direct Assessment Application after their CDA training is complete.
Funds are available October 1 - September 30 and subject to availability.

The NJPDCECE also conducts an ongoing scholarship program for individuals
who are working to renew their Child Development Associate credential.

Certified Childcare Professional (CCP)
The Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) Application Fee Scholarship
is for individuals working at Non-Abbott centers and covers the
cost of the CCP application packet.
Funds are available October 1 - September 30 and are subject to availability.

Eligibility Guidelines for CDA and CCP
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high
school diploma or GED.
- Applicants must be employed in the direct care and education
of children in the field of early care and education.
- Applicants must be registered in the NJ Registry for Childhood
Professionals. Applications for the NJ Registry can be printed
from this website.
- Employers who have paid the CDA Assessment/Renewal Fee for
the applicant may be reimbursed if funds are available.
NJ Early Childhood Education and Reimbursement Program
The New Jersey Early Childhood Education and Training Reimbursement
Program provides tuition reimbursement to child care providers
and teachers who are pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s
degree with an early childhood emphasis, an early childhood
(P-3) teacher certification, their CDA or CCP credential, or CDA
credential renewal.
Funds may be used to cover the cost of college tuition for those
courses leading to a degree with an early childhood emphasis. Funds
may also be used for credit or non-credit course fees for those programs
leading to a CDA or CCP credential or CDA credential renewal. Credit-bearing
college courses may be reimbursed annually up to a maximum of $1,500
per year. Non-credit CDA, CDA renewal, or CCP courses may also be

ALL COURSES MUST HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITHIN ONE YEAR PRIOR TO DATE
OF APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT.

Camden Accreditation Facilitation Project Scholarships
This program is for directors and teachers from centers that have
been accepted in the Accreditation Facilitation Project.
Teachers may be reimbursed up to a maximum of $2,500 annually for
college tuition.
Directors’ Academy
Scholarships are available for Camden directors to attend the Directors’ Academy.
