The Child Development Associate (CDA) is a nationally-recognized credential administered by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington D.C. For more information visit the Council for Professional Recognition website.
The CDA credential can be either credit or non-credit bearing and requires:
- 120 hours of training
- 480 hours of classroom experience
- development of a professional portfolio
- a classroom observation
